Through this role with Wisco Radio, students will be responsible for marketing Wisco Radio's broadcasts, events, and community notifications on respective Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms. Students interested in this position should have an understanding of social media however no background is necessary.

Wisco Radio is looking for students interested in writing about athletic events to commission pieces to be published on WiscoRadio.com and in the local newspapers. Students interested in this position would be required to write 1-2 pieces of content per week however great flexibility would be given for academics. Students interested in this position should be proficient in Microsoft Word.

Wisco Radio is looking for individuals who are interested in learning more about camera operation and running the broadcast camera for online video stream. During the year, Wisco Radio partners with Trollway TV, the local Mount Horeb cable channel, to additionally broadcast the events on cable access networks. Students interested need no prior knowledge as there will be a camera operation training program offered.

Technical Producer

The Technical Producer is responsible for knowing the in’s and out’s about how the broadcast equipment runs and responsible for operating the broadcast equipment during a production. The technical producer is also responsible for assisting the play-by-play and color commentator with setup and takedown of the equipment. Finally, the technical producer assists in running advertisements during the broadcast and operation of the graphics for the video system.

The color commentator provides in-depth analysis and background information, such as statistics, strategy on the teams and athletes, and occasionally anecdotes or light humor. For Wisco Radio, the color commentator position is very similar. The color commentator position is responsible for the above analysis as well as conduction occasional interviews, gathering game statistics, and occasionally keeping game statistics.

Play-by-Play Broadcaster

The play-by-play broadcaster gives a running commentary of a game or event in real time. The play by play broadcaster is the primary speaker on the broadcast and are valued for their articulateness and for their ability to describe each play or event in vivid detail. Wisco Radio’s Play-by-Play broadcaster would follow a similar description as the traditional job description. This person is the lead for the Wisco Radio broadcasts and is also in charge of conducting occasional interviews and gathering game stats.
